The La Liga giants have confirmed that there will be a farewell tribute to their 35-year-old Captain Sergio Ramos, whose contract expires at the end of the month. The legend’s 16-year relationship with Los Blancos ends (officially).

He was reportedly ready to sign an extension to his contract, but the negotiations appear to have failed. The veteran center-back was thought to be hoping for a two-year contract at the Bernabéu, with Madrid preferring a shorter option and maybe with lesser wage.

He is one of the most sought-after players in almost all the leagues around the world. We do not know what the future holds but there’s a high possibility that we might not see him in La Liga. Some of those interested clubs include Manchester City, Manchester United, PSG, and Liverpool.

Spurs manager Jose Mourinho told Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp that “The best team lost” at Anfield in the Premier League on Wednesday night, and statistics say he could be right.

Spurs visited the reigning champions in a game that would determine who would rank first in the Premier League table, but it was Liverpool who finished at the top of the division after Roberto Firmino headed home with a goal from victory in the 89th minute.

Mourinho was seen disappointed in the 2-1 loss after the final whistle. Besides telling Klopp directly that his Spurs team was the best team, he later insisted to reporters that he wouldn’t even be happy with a draw.

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has already responded to the claim on his Instagram account, captioning an image of the Reds celebrating Firmino’s late goal with the message “Best team won.”

And a quick look at the starting statistics suggests that Liverpool were the best team at Anfield. They had 17 shots to the Spurs eight, enjoyed 76% possession versus 24% of the visitors, completed a higher percentage of their passes, dribbled more, won more headers, and took more corners.

However, more detailed statistics paint a slightly different story. While Spurs only had eight Liverpool goal attempts, four of them were categorized as “great chances” compared to none of the Reds.

Nonetheless, they certainly give genuine content to Mourinho’s statement that his team should have won, proving that Liverpool had a bit of luck taking all three points on Wednesday night.

However, there is only one stat that really matters: the score, which ultimately favored Liverpool.

With only four matches left in the remaining fixtures of league stages of IPL, only Mumbai Indians have cemented a place in the playoffs and one team(CSK) has been knocked out. The other six teams are still in the battle to enter the playoffs.

Delhi Capitals:

Four huge defeats consecutively have put DC into huge trouble. After seeming to be a title contender in the 1st half of the tour, they’ve put them into huge trouble. All they need is a win against RCB and RCB does need the same. This has put the match tomorrow into a cracker of a night. They need at least 2 of 3 scenarios given below to place a birth on the playoffs.

KXIP to lose against CSK, so that KXIP finishes with 12 points.
SRH to lose against MI and finish with 12 points.(Note: SRH has the second best better NRR).
KKR-RR result doesn’t affect much but their NRR must not overtake DC’s NRR.

Royal Challengers Bangalore:

Like Delhi Capitals, RCB must also win their remaining match against DC. If they win against DC they will seal their playoffs birth. If they lose tomorrow, they are going to depend on other results for their qualification as their NRR is below KXIP and SRH.

KXIP to lose against CSK in today’s fixture.
Sunrisers to lose against Mumbai Indians and finish with 12 points.
Winner of KKR vs RR must not overtake RCB’s NRR.

Sunrisers Hyderabad:

Sunrisers are back on track after their two wins against DC and RCB and increasing their NRR to +0.555 and had a great leap to the 4th spot. They have the second-best NRR at present. Surprisingly they are the only team who need not depend on the other teams for their qualification and have their fate in their own hands.

Their job is simply to get a win in their next fixture, but the problem is they are going to face the mighty Mumbai Indians. So it’s a big fixture for them against MI in Sharjah. Win and get in or lose to be eliminated is what their task ahead.

Kings XI Punjab:

After coming back strongly with five wins in a row, RR’s fighting chase had brought them down. Their next match is against CSK today. If they win today, they will finish with 14 points and with an NRR better than the loser of RCB vs DC which is going to play tomorrow. Even if they win today against CSK, they have to depend on either of the two scenarios.

SRH to lose against MI (or)
RR vs KKR, the winning team must not win with a bigger margin.
If Punjab loses to CSK they will be eliminated.

Rajasthan Royals:

They are coming back with two good fighting wins against MI and KXIP. The direct way for RR getting into the playoffs is to win against KKR today and Punjab to lose against CSK and Sunrisers lose to Mumbai Indians. Some long story is needed for RR to qualify for the playoffs. Even if they win today, they can get knocked if Punjab and SRH win as they have a better NRR than RR. If they lose they are eliminated today.

Kolkata Knight Riders:

Their defeat against CSK is a huge blow for them at a crucial juncture. Since KKR has the second-lowest NRR(-0.467) and has the least qualification chances but they can qualify if they secure a win today.

The best they can do is to beat RR today and wait for KXIP and SRH to lose in their fixtures. In a clear picture, KKR and RR need a win with a big margin so that they can go in with a better NRR than KXIP and the loser of RCB vs DC.

The loser of KKR vs RR will be eliminated.

The term El Classico refers to a fiery rivalry between Spanish LaLiga giants – Real Madrid and Barcelona. These matchups always create a hype in the footballing world and almost every football fan waits for it to happen. Yesterday was one of them!!

Team Changes

Zinedine Zidane was able to reintroduce Sergio Ramos in the starting lineup after missing the Champions League loss to Shakhtar Donetsk. Marco Asensio also started and Luka Modric fell to the bench.

Philippe Coutinho and Messi had already tried their luck from a distance when Messi saw Courtois produce a magical moment in the 24th minute. The Argentine used his left foot to beat Ramos in the area and shot the near post with his right foot. Courtois was alert and approached the goal to push the ball.

THFC All or Nothing

A team that achieves unprecedented success (Manchester City, the all-or-nothing ‘football theme’ from the previous season), a great team struggling to get out of a tough spot (Amazon Prime series Take Us Home: Leeds United ), or a team that always fights on the wrong side of the scoreboard, but remains an integral part of the city and local culture (Sunderland ‘Til I Die on Netflix) – there is enough drama on each of these tracks that a viewer the time you need more compulsion to tune will be wasted.

The storyline

Basically, odds against All or Nothing – Tottenham Hotspur is their theme. What about the Spurs, after a year of average performances and not living up to expectations once again, is it worth being documented? This is where José Mourinho takes center stage.

In all likelihood, Spurs would have signed the deal with Amazon after a spectacular run to the UEFA Champions League final in 2019. Yet very few expected the club to implode at the start of the 2019-20 Premier League season which caused the departure of coach Mauricio Pochettino in mid-November of last year.

Documentary’s focus

Pochettino appears for about twenty-five minutes in episode one of the series, and that sets the narrative. The focus will be on the club’s resurgence with a new manager, the controversial José Mourinho, although we now know that it didn’t go as expected by President Daniel Levy. The team showed some struggle and hesitated before stuttering across the finish line.

The Spurs have a team full of superstar players, none more so than England captain Harry Kane. However, it is José Mourinho whose presence looms like a specter. The Portuguese coach is a cult figure of personality. We have loved and hated him in equal measure, but we never shy away from reading about him. In short, José Mourinho is today the same informant that he was when he arrived in England in 2004 and was given the name – ‘The Special One’.

About the episodes

All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur is a disappointment because we are presented with superficial documentation of Mourinho. The drama is missing. One of the most successful coaches of his generation, we see little of Mourinho’s tactical mind, not even in the game where we see Spurs with five goals against an unfortunate Burnley Team FC.

With that said, we see the everyday side of Mourinho: the downright cheeky and foul-mouthed coach who is sincere about wanting Harry Kane to “blow up” and calls out Dele Alli for being lazy in practice.

However, there is a more than acceptable reference to community outreach programs; the only downside is that the series doesn’t stop at him either. Even though the series shows glimpses of how the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium was built and turns Levy into some sort of messiah, it would have been a bit better had they focused on how the sacking of Pochettino happened.

What we felt!?

We must remember that this show is supported by a multinational company that is desperate to get into the Premier League broadcasting game. Amazon loves the drama and they gladly show us plenty — but there are many more secrets under the Spurs rock that haven’t been revealed. Honestly, we would have needed the rise of Spurs as a Champions League finalists or at least Pochettino’s tactics and strategy but all that we got was of The Special One Mourinho’s.

The Koeman era has started. No one knows how long it will last, yes, but it has started relatively well. Two impressive victories were followed by a somewhat frustrating draw at home, against a well-trained Sevilla.

Some of Barça’s recurring problems did begin to manifest themselves in that match, especially their nervousness to close a match, and their dependence on Lionel Messi to initiate attacks. However, it has been promising. While Barca failed to attract all of their transfer targets to the club in a timely manner, the team is in a decent position in terms of depth and tactics.

Coach’s strategy

Ronald Koeman has persisted with his tiered build and 4-2-3-1 has sought to focus on more direct playing opportunities, compared to the slower build under Quique Setien. Additionally, he seems to emphasize close man-to-man pressure with an emphasis on closing the gap between individual players. The key to this press has been the double pivot, along with the two attacking central.

Lionel Messi and Philippe Coutinho have often functioned as central press triggers, with Sergio Busquets and Frenkie de Jong often cleaning up and doubling down the resulting receivers. This pressure is really key to Koeman’s game, which focuses on quick losses and moving attacks against the progress of the game. There is less emphasis on absolute possession, but closer positioning between players means that the line is as high as usual.

This slight shift towards frankness, and the seemingly permanent addition of Ansu Fati, has made the team seem more cohesive and less closed. This, in turn, has led to early signs of independence from the Messi-based attacking game.

With so much happening around this season, the Super Kings have been kept quiet in their last 2 matches. Not only by losing it, but they also looked they’ve lost it in the halfway of the match. They are still looking for a perfect playing11 in this season. With MS Dhoni hinting about the sixth bowling option for his team in the post-match presentation against DC, fans are eager to see the changes in the team.

With Rayudu and Bravo have recovered from their injury, they have a good chance to bring back them into the 11. Especially Rayudu at the top playing Watson. Bringing Bravo into the 11 can create chaos in the overseas quota. But Bravo with his tons of experience can always be helpful for CSK with the ball as well as with the bat.

On the other hand, SRH has rejuvenated themselves by registering their first win of this against DC after starting with two losses. They have brought in Kane again and made the batting look better than before and Natarajan bowling those yorkers towards the end to Pant and Stoinis, seems like SRH has got some positive vibes before this match.

In the last match both the teams played, they managed to score above 200 thanks to Samson for RR and Rahul for KXIP, especially Rahul with an end flourish to make a record-breaking 100 by an Indian Batsman and an Indian Captain.

RR vs KXIP:

The Royals will be seen boosted today after their previous match performance especially their opener Jos Buttler returning to their team. Some dangerous power-hitting can be seen today if they fire together.

But Buttler playing at the middle order will give them some solidity in place of David Miller so that their top-order will remain untouched after a good performance against CSK.
