Nominations for the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards have recently surfaced officially, and Rick and Morty have filed nominations for the Outstanding Animated Program! Fans of the franchise know how big a year has been for the Adult Swim animated series as not only did it return for its much-awaited fourth season, but it has also come out with experimental anime shorts showing new uses for the Titanic duo. But during the fourth season, there was a special episode that stood out among others, and it was awarded a nomination!
Rick and Morty: What Odd Acid
Rick and Morty Season 4 Episode 8 “What Odd Acid” is nominated for an excellent animated schedule for Amy, as well as fellow nominee Big Mouth’s “Disclosure the Movie: Musical!” “Bob’s Burgers’ Pig Trouble in Little Tina,” BoJack! Horseman’s “The View from Halfway Down,” and The Simpsons’s “Thanksgiving of Horror.” The official Twitter account of Rick and Morty also celebrated this news!
This is a win for the Outstanding Creative Program in Interactive Media and an Animated Program for the Pickle Rick episode since its third nomination for the series since 2018, a nomination for “Virtual Reality”. This is a shot at winning this year, but it is going to be tough given the rest of the nominees!

The Vat Acid episode certainly plays like the best episode from the fourth season as it is played with the formula of the series, and eventually reveals its own “prestige” moment. While this is second nature to the series, it seemed very difficult in this episode, especially as it also depicted how Rick could be. It will be a tough episode when the series returns with the 5th season.
We are eagerly waiting for the 5th season !!
