LaLiga’s current champions Real Madrid are the most valued football team for the second consecutive year even though there was a drop of 13.8% caused due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The value now stands at a whopping 1,419 million Euros.

Recent Form
Before the commencement of football action in June, Real Madrid was placed behind Barcelona FC. The return of LaLiga has given Madrid players the much-needed time to stay and play as a team with Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio coming into the squad after suffering from injury. They have won almost every game since the restart and have been crowned LaLiga champions for the 34th time after a win against Villareal 2-1 at home.
Squad Strength
As we have discussed already, players like Hazard and Asensio came into action with players firing from all sides. The team coached by Zinedine Zidane has become ruthless since the restart. Real Madrid have the best goalkeeper – Thibaut Courtois and the best forward since restart – Karim Benzema. These two have been sensational since the restart and have won Golden Glove and Mahou Cinco Estrellas Player the Season awards resp. Ferland Mendy has been sensational as the second choice LW (Left Wing) with the youngsters Rodrigo and Vinicius Jr too performing on the attacking perspective.
Transfer News
With Courtois being their No.1 Goalkeeper for Real Madrid, Areola who wants to play in the first team has to return to PSG to have game time since he is currently the 3rd choice Gk for Real Madrid.
Takefusa Kubo, the Japanese who was on loan to RCD Mallorca for the 2019/20 season, performing to his best is on the transfer list as well. He’s been sought after by many clubs including Sevilla, PSG, Real Betis, Granada, Osasuna, and Ajax. Our guess is that he’ll be joining Osasuna as they try to convince Madrid that Kubo will be the leading figure in their club’s historic centenary with Adidas as the new sponsor.
Dani Gomez and De Frutos are sent to Levante with 50% ownership for their contracts and Real Madrid reserves the right of first refusal for any offers for them.
Next Up – The UEFA Champions League
The league winners played the first leg of UCL’s Round of 16 against Manchester City and the match ended up with a scoreline of 1-2. Real Madrid will be playing the second leg against ManCity on the 8th of August. Considering their form there is a chance for a Real Madrid vs Juventus clash if both these teams go past their rivals on the second leg. Players started their training yesterday and here’s what Real Madrid FC has to post about it.
