Paytm back on Play Store
After news that the Google Play Store removed the main Paytm app caused a stir, the e-commerce payment system and the Indian fintech company posted an update a few hours later on Twitter saying they were back. Previously, for the first time, Google had removed the main Paytm app from the Google Play Store on September 18, while other apps such as its Paytm money management and wealth app, the Paytm for Business merchant app, and its retail app movies Tickets are still available on the Play Store for users to install.

What happened??
Although Google allegedly did not mention the exact reason for the drastic move, the search giant previously said that Google Play is designed to provide a secure experience for our consumers while giving developers the platform and tools they need to build businesses.
Google’s ‘Play gambling policy’
Multiple media reports had quoted a Google spokesperson as saying that there is no specific reason to remove the main Paytm app from its Play Store, but on the same blog he had said that the company shared the same goals for its gaming policy and prohibits “online casinos” or “any unregulated gambling applications”. Without mentioning the name, Suzanne Frey, Google’s vice president of Android products, Security, and Privacy, had cited an example of any mobile app that takes consumers to an external website that allows them to participate in paid tournaments.
Frey wrote: “We have the same goals for our gaming policy. We do not allow online casinos or support unregulated gambling applications that facilitate sports betting. This includes if an application takes consumers to an external website that allows them to participate in paid tournaments to win real money or cash prizes, it is a violation of our policies. “
Google protects its users!!
While Google had reiterated that its policies are intended to “protect users,” Paytm had previously posted a statement on Twitter informing users that the main application has been removed from the Google Play Store. The mobile application was still available on the Apple App Store and Paytm said that all users’ money was “completely safe” and that people who had already installed the application could use it without anomalies. The company had also assured its users that the Paytm app, which has been officially removed from the Google Play Store as of now, would be back soon.
