Oneplus 8T – Launch Date, Specs and Everything leaked so far!!

Oneplus 8T

The OnePlus 8T will be OnePlus’ next major release, announced on October 14. While OnePlus unveils its flagship range of phones every May, around October it introduces an interim update to the original phones, marking them with a ‘T’ after their number. This will usually be an advancement of the existing product but this time it’s even advanced!!

History of ‘T’

OnePlus has released a T-series phone every year since 2016, and we’re interested to see how it manages to improve on the excellent OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. Things may be a little different this year now that we have the mid-range OnePlus Nord joining the Series 8 in the company’s lineup, but we’re still waiting for OnePlus to bring us an OnePlus 8T so it can get firmly established as one of the best Android phone manufacturers.

Expected specs

According to the specifications we have received from OnLeaks, the OnePlus 8T will feature a 6.55-inch screen with Full HD + resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. This is an update to the OnePlus 8, which features a 90Hz display. In the renders, we can see that the screen is flat and features a perforation cutout in the upper left corner.

According to OnLeaks, the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 865 processor. A previous report from Android Central had claimed that the OnePlus 8T will feature the Snapdragon 865+ processor, so take it with a pinch of salt. There are two models of 8T that we can confirm as of now, 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB.

Camera setup

You must have seen something similar like this a month ago, didn’t you? This is probably a look-a-like of Samsung’s Note 20 series’ setup!

The curved rear panel features a redesigned rectangular camera module in the upper left corner, which houses four sensors arranged in an L-shape. An LED flash is also located inside the module. The cameras will include a 48MP main shooter, 16MP ultra-wide lens, 5MP macro sensors, and 2MP portrait. The front camera is likely to be a 32MP sensor, compared to the 16MP cameras on the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro.

Battery, Charging and OS

The battery will be a hefty 4,500 mAh unit, but the real upgrade will come in the form of 65W Warp Charge. OnePlus has stuck with 30W fast charging on all of its phones for the past few years since the OnePlus 6T McLaren edition if I could recall. The phone will run OxygenOS 11 out of the box, presumably based on Android 11.

Launch date

The phone has already received BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification and is expected to launch on October 14 with Amazon also confirming the same. We don’t have any pricing information, but judging from the spec updates, we can expect it to cost more than the OnePlus 8, which currently starts at Rs 44,999 in India.
