World No.1 Novak Djokovic is at the center of much controversy over the US Open 2020. Djokovic was blamed by the tournament referee when he threw a spare ball that accidentally hit the Lineperson’s neck.

Despite the No.1 SEED’s plea for clemency, tournament officials disqualified the Serbs according to the rules. The crash sparked debate around the world, with most players supporting the decision.

Novak Djokovic aggravated the situation by not going to the press conference after his match against Pablo Carreno Busta. The 17-time Grand Slam champion issued an apology on Instagram hours later, saying the entire situation left him depressed and empty.

The USTA issued a statement that Djokovic forfeits the ranking points and will be fined $ 250,000 in prize money earned at the US Open 2020. Djokovic wrote about pondering the incident and helping him become a better person.
