The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) at its meeting of the Indian Premier League Governing Council (IPL) decided to hold the 13th edition of the cash-rich tournament from September 19 to November 10.

The tournament will see matches starting at 7:30 PM IST and will also witness 10 doubles. In the case of a doubleheader, the first match will start at 3:30 p.m. IST

It was decided to take the IPL to another week and that the final will be played on November 10 stated a BCCI official, speaking to IANS.

In order to ensure there is enough space between games considering the strict protocol, 10 doubles have been planned, added the BCCI Official.

IPL Finals on Nov 10th

“We have decided to go up until November 10, so the final will be held on a business day for the first time. Also, to ensure there are enough gaps between games taking into account the travel environment and biosecurity and taking all of these things into account, we will have 10 double heads this season, ”the official revealed.

The official said it will be 7:30 PM IST for the evening games when asked about the start time. “We have decided to bring it up 30 minutes after normal IPL hours, which are 8 p.m. for night games and we will start at 7:30 instead.”

If the issue of fans entering the stadium was discussed at the meeting, the official said these things can be addressed in consultation with the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB).

The BCCI is also optimistic about getting full clearance from the government in the coming week to move the tournament to the UAE.

“BCCI has received approval from the Sports Ministry and we hope to have a positive response from the other departments as well very soon,” a BCCI official told IANS on Saturday.
