Tech giant Google has announced Google maps application for apple watch. The Apple watch users can use this feature to navigate by car, bike, and by foot. It will show users the estimated arrival time and step-by-step directions to destinations such as home and work which are previously saved by the users.
The non saved users will have to start navigating from your phone but they can continue to see it on their Apple Watch. For the apple watch, Google maps feature is coming in upcoming days announced by google.
Google maps Application – The Return
After three years Google maps application is returning to apple watch. Google is also bringing out an update this week to expand its Maps app compatibility with Apple’s CarPlay system which means users can listen to music or check their calendar in a side-by-side display of Google Maps. The Google maps application appears on the left of the screen and it’s other features, like the music, appears on the right.
Previously google maps offered a Watch app that was an extension of the Google Maps iPhone app, but it was pulled in 2017 with no explanation provided for the move. It was part of a general part of major apps from the Watch at the time which also included Amazon and other apps. After then, Apple has launched a standalone App Store for the Watch users. Previously, users had to use Watch app downloads from the iPhone.
The mode of CarPlay’s dashboard was introduced in iOS 13 late last year, but it only supported Apple Maps. Apple started giving other developers the ability to take advantage of it in March with the release of iOS 13.4 and after that the finalization of Google’s support for the feature. Google announced that the update will go into effect for all users of CarPlay-supported vehicles today.
It is a very amazing news for apple users as Google maps will make their life easier.
