Marvel Studios
Marvel Studios is an American film and television studio subsidiary of The Walt Disney Studios. They have produced many films over the years but the Marvel cinematic universe officially kicked off in 2008 with its release of Iron Man I. Since then Marvel Cinematic Universe(MCU) has amassed quite a lot of fans worldwide.
Its movies have grossed over 22.55 billion US dollars with its release Avengers Endgame being the highest-grossing film of all time with a whopping 2.79 billion dollars worldwide at the box office. If you are a marvel fanatic or a beginner and hoping to see the full series of marvel movies from 2008 here’s the complete timeline for you:
Captain America – The First Avenger (2011):
This movie released in 2011 was set in World War 2. The movie shows the story of a young but frail Steve Rogers who aspires to join the US Military to serve his nation and save people. Later he receives a Super Soldier serum which makes him a supersoldier with enhanced physical abilities. He then goes on to fight the evil group Hydra led by the Red Skull who’ll later pay a visit in Avengers End Game.
Captain America then crashes a plane equipped with missiles in the middle of a frozen sea to save the country. It is to be added that the Cap sacrifices his own life in the above act. Captain America, frozen for 60 years wakes up in 2011 to find out he was “asleep” for over 60 years. This movie is very important in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it introduces the very first avenger to join the Avengers Initiative Program.

Captain Marvel (2019)

This movie revolves around Carol Danvers, a pilot in the US military force who gets caught between the Kree-Skrull galactic wars. Danvers destroys a powerful engine that is wanted by the Kree. The explosion gives Danvers unimaginable Superhuman abilities making her Captain Marvel.
Captain Marvel meets infamous Nick Fury when she returns to earth who then helps her to recover her memory. Captain Marvel then goes to fight for the universe. This is the movie where Nick Fury gets the idea to start the Avengers Initiative Program to defend Earth from the Outer world and Unearthly forces.

Iron Man 1 (2008)

Iron Man I, kickstarted the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Robert Downey Jr’s career. It was the first movie to be released in a series of 24 movies. Robert Downey Jr plays the role of Tony Stark, genius, billionaire, playboy, a philanthropist. The Stark family has been manufacturing weapons for generations for the US military.
After Howard Stark, his son Tony Stark takes over the Stark Industries with his father’s best friend and his guardian Obadia. During a weapons showcase, Tony Stark gets kidnapped by terrorists where shrapnel enters his body. In order to save himself, Tony builds a tiny Arc Reactor that prevents the shrapnel from getting closer to his heart.
Tony then realizes that his weapons are not used to fight the terrorists but are used by the terrorists. He escapes from the terrorist cave by creating the iconic Mark-I suit from scratch then blasts his way through there. He then gets rescued.
Tony then continues his suit project and builds a more refined Hot Rod themed Iron Man suit powered by the arc reactor. Later in that movie, he finds that Obadiah has been selling the weapons to the bad hands. Iron Man I ends with Tony and Obadiah fighting in their suits and Obadiah ends up frying in the Arc Reactor. This movie solidified Robert Downey as Tony Stark in the people’s eyes and grossed over 585 million US dollars worldwide.

Iron Man 2 (2010)

The 4th movie in the MCU timeline shows Tony Stark using the suits for various occasions. The Arc Reactor that Tony made to save his life starts poisoning his blood. Tony Stark lets go of his life and starts acting recklessly. Later in that movie Nick Fury, the director of the shield meets up with tony stark and helps him to save his own life.
This movie has an iconic Iron Man Suitcase Suit which he uses to fight the Whiplash, A Russian physicist and ex-convict who builds a pair of arc reactor-based electric whips to exact vengeance on the Stark family.
Tony then goes on to create a new Arc Reactor with a Palladium core inspired by his Father’s work. Hammer Industries, the rival of stark industries, creates their version of Iron Man suits ( more like robots) created with the help Whiplash. This movie introduced two major iconic Marvel characters, Nick Fury and Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow). At the end of the film, Nick fury proposes The Avengers initiative program to Tony and asks him to join.

The Incredible Hulk (2008)
This is supposed to be the first movie in the MCU with great expectations but failed to deliver the fans what they needed. The movie portrays a Gamma experiment done to create a Supersoldier serum. It’s later injected to Bruce Banner, a 7 Ph.D. holder, who gets to know about the other guy inside him, the Hulk. His skin is hard that it even prevents bullets.
These events are supposed to happen after the events of Iron man 2, that the shield is initiating on the avenger’s program and Tony Stark comes in the post-credits scene to determine the location of the hulk and ask him to join the Avengers.

Thor (2011)

Thor – God of Thunder and Son of the mighty Odin, played by Chris Hemsworth, is introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in this movie. Thor’s half brother Loki – The God of Mischief is played by Tom Hiddleston. The movie revolves around the rivalry between the two brothers Thor always coming out on top and Loki feeling inferior to Thor. Loki then plans to take over Asgard by collaborating with the Ice Giants. Thor on a whim destroys the ice giants. This infuriates Odin as he finds out that Thor acted without thinking.
Odin banishes Thor to Earth and makes him unworthy to lift Mjölnir – the enchanted Hammer. Thor then meets Jane Foster, a scientist, who helps Thor to go back to his world. Thor then learns his half brother Loki was the reason for his punishment and seeks to confront him. After their fight, Loki falls into deep space. This movie introduces one of the major characters who then plays a major role in upcoming films.
In the post-credits, Tesseract, the first of six infinity stones is revealed.

Marvel – The Avengers (2012)

Avengers is the movie that attracted all the Marvel fans after Iron Man’s fame introducing all the mainstream characters. This movie was the turning point in the Marvel Universe where all the Superheroes had to know about each other’s strengths and weaknesses and act together against the Chitauri army brought by Loki with the Scepter which was later known to have the Mind Stone.
All the cast in the previous movies were brought together except for Hulk, Edward Norton from Incredible Hulk was replaced by the actor Mark Ruffalo. This movie mainly focuses on the Avengers Initiative Program to bring the group of remarkable people to fight against extraterrestrial activities that are beyond the reach of humans.
This movie ends with a close call sacrifice of the Iron Man making him the most favorite character for all marvel fans.
Apart from this, the Post-Credit scene of this movie introduces the main antagonist of the MCU, Thanos – The Mad Titan.

Iron Man 3(2013)

This movie takes place after the events of avengers. Tony still plagued by the traumatic events from his fight against the Chitauri, finds it hard to cope up with real life. A terrorist group called 10 Rings led by Mandarin targets Tony.
Mandarin destroys Tony’s Cliff House in Malibu. Tony then embarks on a quest to destroy Mandarin. Tony then finds out the real enemy was Aldrich Killian, a guy who holds a grudge against Tony for not meeting him on a Rooftop. Aldrich Killian then kidnaps Pepper Potts and injects her with an experimental Regenerative Serum Extremis
Tony in order to save Pepper Potts uses all his suits, the Iron Legion to launch an all-out war between him and Aldrich Killian. Tony comes out victorious. To get rid of his anxiety and insomnia Tony destroys all his suits. This is the last stand-alone Iron Man movie. This movie acts as a fitting ending for Tony Stark.
In the end, Tony gets rid of his arc reactor. The post-credits of the movie shows us the next big lore in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Ultron)

Thor: The Dark World (2013)
This movie is followed by the events of The Avengers as Thor and Loki return to Asgard and Loki is imprisoned for the crime he committed. Thor also remembers his relationship and promise to return to earth to meet Jane Frost. This was a crucial moment where all the realms were about to align in a straight line known as the Convergence. This is the time when the Dark Elves defeated by King Borr, Father of the mighty Odinn, left in open space in a hypersleep finally awake from the sleep. They realize it’s time to conquer one of the infinity stones, the Reality Stone known as Ether.
Due to the events of convergence Jane frost accidentally possessed with Ether changed the fact of the fight between Thor and Malekith to earth during the convergence.
Malekith was the reason behind the death of Mother of Thor and Loki. Hence the brothers come together to fight against the Dark Elves. Loki pretends to be dead as he wanted the throne of Asgard boycotting Odin to be restrained on earth.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
This movie takes place post the events of Avengers. The movie revolves around Captain America who is the major part of S.H.I.E.L.D. Captain America is made aware of the three Helicarriers that are capable of predicting crime before it even happens. Captain America is not very thrilled about this idea. When Fury investigates his concerns on the idea he finds some shady stuff. When he starts to dig deep he is attacked by some Agents and a guy with a Metal Arm.
Fury hides in Captain America’s house as he is critically wounded. Captain America chases the Metal Armed Assassin and is thrown when he finds out the Assassin is his long lost best friend Bucky. It turns out S.H.I.E.L.D has been infested by HYDRA Agents. Bucky was brainwashed to do all the shady stuff. Captain America then destroys S.H.I.E.L.D and the 3 Helicarriers and saves his best friend Bucky.

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

Among the Cinematic Universe, all the other movies were somehow related to the Earth, this is the first movie completely different and Intergalactic when compared to others. James Gunn had shown there are more beings beyond the limits of the earth. The characters Drax, Rocket, Groot, Gamora are considered to be the last of their living kind and a demi-human Peter Quill as the leader of the gang.
This movie is supposed to be an important piece of information as it introduces one of the Elders, The Collector also a closer look at the big baddie Thanos with the small baddie Ronan who was assigned to steal the Power stone, an Infinity Stone. Ronan was later shown in the movie Captain Marvel as Ronan the Accuser.
The movie was a great success even though all the characters had no link with the avengers and this was the first and last movie to introduce five new characters in a single movie.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 (2017)

This movie is a direct sequel to the first part. The movie starts with the Guardians of the Galaxy fighting a Monster to get the so-called Batteries. These batteries are then exchanged with the Sovereign for Nebula, Gamora’s sister.
Rocket, mischievous as he is, steals the batteries knowing its worth. The Sovereign launches an attack on the Guardians. When they are cornered, a Mysterious ship helps them. The Guardians crash on a planet where the Spaceship follows them. The mysterious guy from the spaceship reveals himself to be Starlord’s (Peter Quill’s) long lost dad, EGO. Peter Quill, Drax, Gamora then embark on a journey to Peter’s dad’s planet only to then know the whole planet is his dad and that his father is Celestial.
Rocket and Groot stay behind to fix the ship only to be captured by Yondu who then bonds with Rocket when his crew betrays him and imprisons him. Peter then learns that his dad killed his mother and he is not who he claims to be. The Guardians of the galaxy then fight off EGO, Peter’s dad.
This movie was a perfect sequel to the first movie while the first movie concentrated more on Comedy and Action, this part concentrates primely on the story. This movie sees one of the saddest character deaths in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The post-credits scene however of this movie created a separate hype among the audience as it hinted a new marvel character Adam Warlock

Avengers – Age of Ultron (2015)

This movie is the Second Big Blockbuster of the four movies which bring all the Superheroes together. The movie starts with the Avengers clearing out a HYDRA facility to take back Loki’s staff. While Tony goes in to take the staff a Meta Woman messes up his mind and Tony gets a glimpse of his worst fears, being responsible for his Teammate’s death. It makes Tony think and Tony comes up with a solution to provide the first line of defense with suits around the Earth to protect it from other forces.
Tony approaches Bruce Banner (aka) Hulk/ Bruce for help. They try to create a new entity by combining Jarvis with Loki’s staff but end up creating Ultron. Ultron seeks to destroy the world and save it from humans, a twisted point of view on Tony’s view. Ultron then proceeds to make itself a new suit and makes avengers its first target.
Ultron then comes up with a plan for an undefeatable new body made of Vibranium, the strongest metal on earth, and combining himself with the stone from Loki’s Staff. Later it is revealed that the stone is Mind stone, one of 6 infinity stones. Ultron plans to destroy the world by dropping a huge stone on the Earth but the Avengers save the day.
This movie introduces two new characters Quick Silver and Scarlet Witch. QuickSilver being unfortune gets killed while fighting Ultron.
The post-credits scene shows us the Mad Titan picking up the Infinity Gauntlet saying, “Fine. I’ll do it myself..
